Hiking - Walking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Misty Max Speed: Distance Covered: 3 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Friday 8th September – walk ***** The Dip to Felixstowe Ferry – lovely
misty sunrise then mainly cloudy.
Woke early, made a flask and drove down to The Dip at Felixstowe to catch
the sunrise arriving at 5.45 to a brilliant red band on the horizon, just
stunning. Set off along the prom towards the Ferry and the mist thickened,
in fact we could only wee the top of the golf course Martello tower, so
pretty, got some lovely pics too:) Sat on the beach by the River Deben
and were glad to have sweatshirts on as it was a tad on the chilly side but
fantastic surrounded by mist hanging over the river:) We then continued
onto the Ferry as a red ball appeared out of the gloom and all the cobwebs
were coveed in dew. The moored boats on the still water were only just
visable in the mist, petty as a picture:) Then through the boat yad and out
onto the river path before turning left onto Tomlin bank which was thick
with dew and we got absolutely soaked but it was well worth it as we picked
loads of blaclberries and plumes. Coming out at the Golf club we walked
along the cliff to the van covering a little over three miles, what a great
way to stat the day!
Then home for breakfast, sot out my pics before heading round to our
neighbours for a cuppa and chat, what a lovely day, no way near as hot
today as pretty cloudy!
